The Barmy Army, one of the most well-known groups of the English supporters has come up with a new chant targeted at David Warner and his wife Candice Fazlon as the first Ashes Test between Australia and England got underway in Brisbane on Thursday.
Known for taking a dig at the Australian players, the Barmy Army, this time targeted Candice who was involved in a personal incident at a Sydney hotel toilet with rugby star Sonny Bill Williams in 2008. Warner married Candice in 2015.
The chant of Barmy Army’s new song goes: “Davie Warner is over the hill
Came second to Sonny Bill
He’ll only pick a fight with men in a wig
When he opens his gob
We think he’s a knooooob
With Root our captain we’ll take the urn home”
Candice (nee Falzon) previously mentioned the incident during an interview with the ABC in 2009.
“I wasn’t in a state where I didn’t know what happened, but you don’t think of how your actions, when you’re drunk, can have an affect on your life,” she said.
