Cameron Bancroft was unlucky on Day 1 of the second Ashes Test. He departed for merely 10 runs after England won the toss and chose to bowl at Adelaide.
Literally, Bancroft was run out after a comedy of errors. His opening partner David Warner played a defensive shot on the bowling of Stuart Broad when Australia was on 33 for none.
Moeen Ali, who was fielding at short cover missed to pick up the ball which tempted Bancroft to run, but Chris Woakes, who was just behind Ali took a few steps and picked up the ball cleanly.
Bancroft who was yards down the wicket for a run had to return, and Woakes hit the bullseye sending the young Aussie opener back to the pavilion.
