Hobart Hurricanes all-rounder Daniel Christian pulled off one of the all-time greatest run-saving efforts in cricket history.
The Hurricanes veteran denied former international teammate Shane Watson a certain six as he jumped from the field to bat the ball back in goalkeeper style.
It all happened in the ninth over of Thunders’ innings. Cameron Boyce was in the attack against Shane Watson. The fourth delivery was a leg-spin on the offside, as Watson lofted the length ball high over mid-off. The ball was certain to cover the long-off area and land for a six, but Daniel back-tracked, waited and made a timely leap to slap the ball back in the field to deny a boundary, and in the process, fell hard on his back outside the boundary rope.

Talking about the match, despite a great start by Watson and Jos Buttler for the Thunders in their chase to 190, they fell short by just nine runs as Hurricanes grabbed three points.
